The research of visual landscape is the basis of the reasonable development and utilization of landscape resources. The Karst region of the Basin Hilly Area is one of the critical areas of Yunnan tourism development, scientifically understanding the unique geographical features of the Karst region of the Basin Hilly Area, to evaluate the visual landscape of the basin in the study area, put forward the optimization way of targeted, it’s not only help further deepen the theory and method of landscape science for promoting the construction of Yunnan tourism "Second Entrepreneurship" and "Beauty Yunnan", improve the tourism environment of the Karst Region of the Basin Hilly Area, but also has important reference value. In this paper, the integrated and method and multiple-disciplinary theory were adopted, and it’s supported by GIS technology and the analysis technique of the landscape pattern, the Karst region of the Basin Hilly Area visual landscape system and optimization was studied. The results indicated that:(1) Whether it is a dynamic sight or static horizon, the 57 basins which the total area size over 10km2 on the Karst region of the Basin Hilly Area, their richness of visual space and landscape diversity was high. From the point of view of landscape NP(Number of patches), the NP index and PD(Patch density) index of grass both presented the highest one, which means the FI(Fragmentation index) was high; the largest type of the landscape was the cultivated land, also it’s the superior type in the whole area, it’s density is relatively small, the fragmentation of cultivated land was low, and it’s LPI(Largest patch index) presented the highest one, the proportion of the patch connected area was large which impact on the entire landscape; The proportion of the wetland landscape area in the entire landscape was the smallest one, the impact on the landscape as a whole. Within the scope of the vision of different sights, in close shot clear zone(0 km to 0.8 km), the middle background area(0.8 km to 2 km) also presented that the fragmentation index of the grassland landscape and the cultivated land were small, which showed advantage landscape characteristics; In the vision fuzzy zone(2 km to 10 km) of landscape type was cultivated land, and also the landscape quality was strongly influenced by the cultivated land.(2) The visual landscape for studying the 30 basins of the Karst region of the Basin Hilly Area, the results indicated that: the aesthetic level of the visual landscape on the Karst region of the Basin Hilly Area was low, the vast majority of the basin in the "conflict" and "coordination" basic level. Among them in close shot clear area only in the four basins of Kunming, Luoping, Chengjiang, on the level of "beauty". In the middle background area, the two basins of Qiaojia, Huize on the level of "serious conflict"; The three basins of Anning, Kunming and Mile on the level of "general beauty"; Only the two basins of Luoping and Chengjiang on the level of "beauty". In the vision of fuzzy area, the nine basins of Shizong, Dongchuan, Fuming, Qiaojia, Huize, Xundian,Jiangchuan on the level of "serious conflict"; Only 1 basin of Kunming in the level of "general beauty" level. Dominant landscape types of landscape structure for the visual quality of landscape aesthetics had played a significant role in the entire study area.(3) To improve the tourism environment of lake basin on the Karst region of the Basin Hilly Area, it’s supposed to through the landscape agriculture configuration to reduce the landscape visual of cultivated land, the beauty of the path of ascension and improve the spectacular landscape by optimizing the road landscape zone, to control the scale of the residents area and construction land. Green belt construction, basin edge mountain greening, to improve the macroscopic visual landscape of all basins.
