"Gender structure" and "Age structure" is the main part of the natural structure of the population studied, but also within a certain time and space research demographics, changes in population between the foundation and the social, cultural, economic and other factors relations. In recent years, research on prehistoric population is increasing, but so far still lacks population studies of regional in Western and Eastern Zhou Dynasty. Linfen Basin is located in southern Shanxi Province, which has rich cultural heritage of Western and Eastern Zhou Dynasty. Especially in the Qucun graveyard, Shangma graveyard and Qiaocun graveyard, the burial installments is clear and all kinds of information are comprehensive, furthermore to explore the process of collecting a large number of human bone specimens stored in good condition, detailed and accurate identification of gender and age, and laid a good foundation for the regional population studies.This article based on the burial materials of three graveyard, learn the theory and methods of the study population, the natural structure of the population at different stages of development of Linfen basin in Western and Eastern Zhou Dynasty, especially gender composition and age composition of a statistical comparison and found that gender composition of the population during the imbalance, and was generally low average life expectancy for men and women, women’s mortality was significantly higher than that of men in Western and Eastern Zhou Dynasty.In addition, the paper also examines the burial and funeral customs of Linfen basin system during in Western and Eastern Zhou Dynasty, there are some differences found in the inner region of the coffin regime, but with the destruction and tripod system with Gui practices reflect prevailing after the collapse of the Spring and Autumn Period ritual system bad; And under the influence of Shanxi blend of many cultures and surrounding cultural factors, the burial ceremony and the burial direction(head direction) about the tombs has also undergone a significant change in the late Warring States. In the statistical classification of funerary objects, the paper discusses the distribution of wealth in society as well as the male and female sexes use different periods in funerary objects on the differences. Finally, from the perspective of the mutual relations of the population and the environment, resources, explained the process of social development Linfen Basin in Western and Eastern Zhou Dynasty.
