| Props, playing an important role in Chinese classical dramas, can be divided into big ones and small one in Chinese opera art. As the the background setting, they are easily to be ignored, while the latter is well received by scriptwriters. The proper arrangement of small props is helpful to shape characters, externalize characters’ inter activities, display personal characters, promote characters’ actions, reach an intertwined relationship between characters and stories. They also strengthen conflicts and promote the development of plots. Besides, they also play a role in displaying personal ambitions by articles, expressing emotions by objects and transferring personal feelings in objects. In this paper, the author, starting from personal creating practices, focuses on the display and role of golden hairpin engraved with dragon and phoenix in the drama Jin YU QI Yuan. |
