Lin Xiantang’s Non-violence Anti-Japanese activities, is an important part of the anti-Japanese activities during the period of Japanese occupation in Taiwan. Besides, it belongs to Taiwan’s gentry, headed by Lin Xiantang. It is an unique way of anti-Japanese, because of the conditions of themselves and the special times. In Taiwan, Lin is considered as “the Father of Parliament”. Although he has never been put forward the term “Non-Violence Anti-Japanese” on any occasion, he is the undisputed leader of this movement. He was deeply influence by Confusion since his childhood, with the feelings of compassion. He has always been full of conscious of Taiwan and his motherland. His goal is to seek the political and economic rights for the people of Taiwan and he fights for this during his life. Because of the special times and society, Lin’s efforts is destined to be a failure. But it still plays an important role in inspiring wisdom and restricting the governor autarchy.This article is based on Lin’s family, his education, the Non-Japanese Activities and influences, and some other factors. This article will introduce Lin’s activities and thoughts. Besides, it will analyses Lin ‘s complex feelings during the period.The year of 2015 just passed. It was the 70 anniversary of China’s Anti-Japanese War and the restoration of the Taiwan region. I hope this paper could make some contributions to the memorial exchanges of heroes between the mainland and the Taiwan region.
