A Study Of Cheng Fangwu 's Literary And Artistic Thought

In this work, we investigated the theory on literary thoughts and literary criticism of Fangwu Cheng. Based on the previous studies, the current state and the weaknesses of Fangwu Cheng’s literary views were systematically concluded in this work. We discussed the formation, development as well as the evolution of Fangwu Cheng’s literary thoughts in details. This paper mainly focuses on theoretical constructions about Fangwu Cheng’s literary views including subjective literary views,revolutionary literary thoughts and literary criticism. Sequentially, Fangwu Cheng’s literary views were further evaluated in this work.In the first chapter of this paper, subjective literary views of Fangwu Cheng were stated. In Fangwu Cheng’s literary views, subjective and objective literary views fused into each other. However subjective literary views play a leading role. This has been demonstrated by his romantic literary views and sympathetic criticism. In the second chapter, we discussed the changes of Fangwu Cheng’s literary views during his later period. The reason of the formation of Fangwu Cheng’s revolutionary literary views and ideological changes were analyzed in this part. The occurrence of his ideological changes was not accidental, but was due to the subjective preference and objective environments. The construction of Fangwu Cheng’s literary criticism was studied in the third chapter. The essential significance of setting the standards on the true criticism was elaborated. In the last chapter, the significance and limitations of Fangwu Cheng’s literary views were evaluated critically.
