With the growth of China’s economy, more cultural and economic exchanges appear between the east and the west. A large quantity of interpreters with high quality are required. Relatively, consecutive interpreting can be viewed as a form of interpreting that is widely used. Difficulties are frequently during consecutive interpreting, accounting for the reasons such as the structural complexity, the variability of word order as well as the instantaneity of consecutive interpreting.Based on the practice, this thesis analyzes the difficulties and reasons, which cause the problems in consecutive interpreting of long sentences, from the angle of the differences between Chinese and English. Raising several feasible measures, the thesis aims to make the interpreting of English more authentic in accordance with the Chinese expression and provides some references for interpreters in the future.
