This article aims to make a systematical clarification, analysis and inquiry of Nietzsche’s cultural philosophy thought from the perspective of cultural philosophy, and thus to demonstrate and interpret its historical influence, contemporary value and limitation. The article holds the view that Nietzsche deemed philosophy as a “culture doctor”, the unique healer treating cultural illness in the crisis of culture. Therefore, his cultural philosophy thought is the magic spell that used philosophy as a means toovercome the cultural danger and supremacy of rationalism, after the inherent dilemma ofwestern rationalism and disadvantage of Christian morality were exposed. We might say, his cultural philosophy thoughtis based on the foundation of new transcendence and can be used to analyze metaphysics and existing problems, and is both deconstruction and restructuring of western rationalistic culture Dionysian. He deconstructed western culture through criticizing Christianity, traditional morality and scientificrationality, and restructured the same culture for philosophical purpose through expounding superman’s ideal personality, tragic spirit and art,Nietzsche’s cultural philosophy thought has profound influence on western philosophy ideology. He created a new thinking model for cultural philosophy, which provided theoretical reference for development of philosophy in later generations. Its contemporary significance is that the affirmation of human freedom and transcendence provides theoretical foundation for our cultural innovation. It must be pointed out, however, that Nietzsche’s cultural philosophy thought still has its own inevitable limitation.Such overemphasis on non-rationality and description of ideology of power willthrew him into a dilemma between criticizing metaphysicson one hand and unavoidablygetting caught in it on the other.
