An Analysis Of The Musical Features And Performance

“a Heroine and a martyr”(composed in 2011) was a new Erhu concerto which composed by Guan Naizhong for commemorating the xinhai revolutionary martyr “Qiu Jin”. In terms of structure, except introduction and coda,according to Qiu Jin’s revolution experience and her heroics, the mainly part of this piece was divided into eight parts; the whole piece is sonata form. In the process of playing this type’s work, besides structure, key signature,melody、harmony and the difficult technics, more importantly, the Erhu performers should understand and express the significances of this piece which is Qiu Jin’s different emotions in different places and situations, music characteristics and music image. Above all, the writer thinks that in order to play this piece, performers should pay more attention to “accents”, “position and direction’s quickly switch”, “bow and body movement’s cooperation”to seize the right performance expression.
