Ubiquitous Learning is also referred to as Seamless learning, which means communication in every hour and minute, and learning existing everywhere. People could acquire any information they want wherever and whenever through Ubiquitous Learning. It features permanency, accessibility, instantaneity, interactivity, authenticity of teaching activities as well as adaptability. In nature, Ubiquitous Learning is learner-centered. It focuses on learning target and is supported by ubiquitous technologies. Learning has become spontaneous activity. This thesis analyses the theoretical key points and application of Constructivism, Connectivism, and Situated Cognition. Relative technologies of Personalized Push and Phone Gap mobile development are investigated. On the basis of the above-mentioned theories, requirement analysis, Service type GIS software and relative website analysis are conducted aiming at detailed situation of English vocabulary learning and Situated learning. According to the Ebbinghaus curve theory, the study analyses word study personalized push principle based on mobile terminal, structures Ubiquitous Learning System prototype framework and puts forward Ubiquitous Learning system design scheme of English language based on GIS. Three functional modules: word review, situated learning and community discussion are designed conforming to the practical principle. Ubiquitous Learning system of English language based on GIS is researched and developed in conformity with stability, safety, low-cost and easy-operation principles as well as user characteristics. The three-layer architecture system consists of various logical blocks. Data access and logical operations are gathered in components to enhance the reusability and expansibility of the system while reducing the development and maintenance costs. Meanwhile, the system realizes dynamic seamless integration of spatial data and personalized learning resources, which leads to the solution of poor learning continuity caused by location change of learners in other learning schemes.
