The geopolitics analysis geopolitical relations of different countries by the combination of geographical and political methods to provide policy service to country. China-Burma oil and gas pipelines is a strategic measure to solve the problem of energy security and diversification of energy import channels diversified energy sources. Being affected by the geopolitical and the scarcity of oil and gas resources, the China-Burma oil and gas pipelines is facing domestic risks of Myanmar and international factors of geopolitical risks. We need to ensure the normal operation of the China-Burma oil and gas pipelines by using the theory of geopolitics to analyze the risk and put forward relevant countermeasures to maintain energy security of our country and national interests.In this paper, we use event analysis method, GIS spatial analysis method and this paper is divided into six parts. The first part is about the research of geopolitical theory, cooperation between China and Myanmar and the energy transportation risk. The second part is to define the concept of geopolitics, and summarize the geopolitical research level and research object. Geopolitics is divided into three basic levels; the national level, regional level and global level. Study on the geopolitical relates to geopolitical relations, geopolitics and geopolitical strategy. The third part introduces the general situation of the China-Burma oil and gas pipelines and geopolitical effect. China-Burma oil and gas pipelines is conducive to the realization of China’s energy diversification and energy channel diversification strategy, to reduce the risk of excessive dependence on the Malacca Strait of China’s energy imports, to protect our country’s oil and gas import safety. In the longer term, the China-Burma oil and gas pipelines can consolidate bilateral relations, through India ocean to the sea, to protect China’s southwest frontier geopolitical security. The fourth part studies the geopolitical relations from the perspective of geopolitics of the country and the surrounding and outside the region, and the delineation of high security(21<S≤24), moderate security(18≤S<21), low safety(15<S<18), severe insecurity(8≤S<15)state to find out, could pose a threat to the state of the China-Burma oil and gas pipelines. The fifth part is the analysis of the risk factors of the China-Burma oil and gas pipelines in the national relations on the basis of Myanmar including the domestic situation changes, changes in Sino Burmese relations between countries, India, the United States, Japan and other countries outside the region to intervene, ethnic and religious conflicts, violent terrorist activities etc. The sixth part puts forward to some suggestions to alleviate the risk of the China-Burma oil and gas pipeline.China-Burma oil and gas pipelines faces many geopolitical risks, and we should pay more attention to these geopolitical risk factors impact on the China-Burma oil and gas pipelines, the integration of the positive factors in the development process of China’s oil and gas cooperation, influence the balances of other political forces, to maximize the protection of the safe operation of the China-Burma oil and gas pipelines, and the maintenance of China’s geopolitical strategy profits.
