With the rapid development of information and communication technology, a large number of western culture into China, accelerated the impact of national culture and fusion, which makes China’s ethnic minority groups are facing the integration of the national culture and identity.Especially the minority adolescent students, learning western culture and adapt to the native culture prone to a sense of crisis, and students are in the key period of ethnic identity and self concept development, their ethnic identity development direction and results,self-concept formation on the mental health status and to build a harmonious society have important influence.Therefore, this study uses the "minority nationality identity questionnaire" compiled by Shi Huiying, Tennessee Self Concept Scale(TSCS)drawn up by Williams H.Fitts and revised by Lin Bangjie.The purpose of the study was to explore the current status of the development of ethnic identity and self concept on the middle school students, and to discuss the influence of demographic variables on ethnic identity and self-concept, and to analyze the relationship between them. So we can learn from the education to discover and analyze problems, to provide individualized plan for the implementation of school education.This study the following conclusions:(1)Hui high school students in the nationnal identity and Chinesenationnal identity is higher, and the identity of the Chinese nation is higher than the nationnal identity, and the students in the sense of belonging of thenationnal and the Chinese nation is relatively low;(2)There is a significant difference in demographic variables of gender, grade, mother’s nationality, parents’ education level on ethnic identity.(3)The score of self concept in the Hui high school students is generally higher, and its development level is better;(4)There is a significant difference in demographic variables such as gender, grade, the number of friends in the Han nationality and the use of the language at home on self-concept.(5)There is a significant positive correlation of Hui ethnic identity and self concept of senior high school students,namely the higher of ethnic identity, the better of self concept,vice versa.
