It is well known that most of the world countries are composed of many ethnic groups, and the ethnic relations directly impacts on the stability and development of the country. So the national question has attracted all the countries attention in the world. Especially after the collapse of the Soviet Union, the national questions of the Soviet Union have paid high attention to the study of annotation in the world. The Ussr is a multi-national state which are composed of more than120ethnic groups, and there is a lot of different among various ethnic’s population distribution, language and culture, religious belief and the level of economic development, but the contradiction between the Soviet Nationalities is more complex. Therefor the Soviet Union regarded as being one of the most sophisticated national ethnic relations in the world.In face of complex and diverse ethnic problems, the Soviet Union leaders have worked tirelessly toexplore a development path suited to its national con ditions, Lenin took the correct national policy to realize the equality of all ethnic groups, promote national unity, but beginning from Stalin Soviet national policy has gradually deviated from the thought of Lenin, and comes towards the Russian Principle. So in dealing with ethnic problems we must resolutely resist the nationalism and ethnic separatist forces.This paper is divided into four sections in addition to the foreword. The first chapter introduces the complexity of the ethnic composition of the Soviet Union and the diversity of ethnic conflicts. The second chapter of soviet nationalities policy made a brief period, is to analyze the influence of the wrong ethnic policy sessions Soviet leaders from Stalin who began to take on the Soviet national issues arising.
