Popularization Of Marxism And Its Social Basis

The communist party of China successfully convened the17th National PartyCongress on October15th,2007, president Hu Jintao specified clearly in the report:To carry out the publicity of the theoretical system of socialism with Chinesecharacteristics, and to motivate the popularization of the contemporary ChineseMarxism. This is the first time that “contemporary Chinese Marxism” is clearly statedin Party’s documents.The main body of the construction of socialism with Chinese characteristics isthe broad masses, and Marxist historical materialism tells us that the masses are thecreator of history, and material and spiritual wealth. Therefore, only if the massesreally change the Marxism into the inner strength of building the socialist, can wesuccessfully realize the grand goal of building a moderately prosperous and socialistharmonious society. On this basis, the17th National Party Congress brought forwardthat the nature of motivation of the popularization of the contemporary ChineseMarxism is to realize the combination of the social practice of the broad masses withthe contemporary Chinese Marxist theory. The motivation of the popularization of thecontemporary Chinese Marxism through a variety of ways is for the benefit for:achieving the great renaissance of the Chinese nation, building a well-off societycomprehensively, maintaining the vigor and vitality of our Party’s theory to keep thetree of theory evergreen, and leading and uniting the masses to strengthen theideology of socialism. It has to go through a process of receiving, understanding,grasping and application of the Marxism to achieve the popularization of it. It is notan automatic process but is one from abstract to concrete, from abstruse to common,and from grasping by minority to majority people.
