Design And Implementation Of Small And Medium ERP System Based On Multi-tier Architecture

With the diversification of the international market and increasing competition among enterprises, more and more enterprises want to organize and manage business activities efficiently through the ERP system to enhance their competitiveness.Although ERP has emerged and developed for a long time, and there are various types of ERP software products at home and abroad, but most of them ignore the actual situation of small and medium enterprises so that many Chinese small and medium enterprises can not implement ERP system effectively.Therefore, it is particularly important to develop an ERP system which is suitable for the actual situation for small and medium enterprises.Firstly, this paper proposes a multi-tier architecture model called "Three physical layers, Multiple logical layers" based on Web Service technology. This architecture has better flexibility and scalability compared with the traditional two-tier and simple two-tier architectures. Then, using C# programming language,.NET framework and SQL Server database, an ERP system which faces the small and medium productive enterprises is designed and implemented.With the in-depth analysis of business process features of the small and medium enterprises, the classic business processes have been streamlined and optimized to complete the process design of the ERP system.In the process of system implementation, taking "Modularized design thinking, Component development approach" as the design concept, the paper uses the component design method based on.NET dynamic link library and classic design patterns improved by.NET reflection to design the multiple tiers.Meanwhile, in order to meet the urgent needs of business managers for mobile office anytime and anywhere, the ERP system is extended to the mobile work area. The ERP system has two types of clients which are the normal desktop version and the smart phone version on Window Mobile. After several tests and modifications, the ERP system has good usability, scalability and maintainability. After several testing, modification and implementation, ERP systems has good usability, scalability and maintainability, and can become a powerful management tool of small and medium productive enterprises.
