Antenna in radar, communications, radio, television and other application areas are extensive, it is an integral part of the system in wireless communications, detection systems, wireless access, and electronic countermeasures. With the Ultra wide band (UWB) technology in the field of communications applications, the rapid development of high-speed integrated circuits, rapid development of microwave printed circuit manufacturing industry, there has been ultra-wideband printed antenna, which implements the ultra-short-distance bandwidth, high-speed data transmission. The deferent from other wireless communication technologies, it has small size, frequency bandwidth, high-speed data transmission, low power consumption, security, high-performance, high security, low cost, easy integration, etc. . This is also a corresponding antenna higher requirements, In this paper, reference [1] proposed an ultra-wideband printed antenna design was simulated, and make improvements.Reference [1] design a printed dipole antenna with short bridge, the antenna operating in 3.1-10.6GHz band. In this paper, detailed analysis of the main parameters of the antenna performance, based on a defect in the antenna structure,using defected ground structure to make improvements, and achieved the antenna bandwidth in the 2.35-10.8GHz range of return loss less than-10dB,to realize the broaden bandwidth. Finally, the thickness of the antenna 0.8mm, the relative dielectric constant of 2.55 out of the media board manufacture in kind, with the network analyzer test results show that the UWB bandwidth of 3.1-10.6GHz, the return loss is less than-10dB, reaching UWB antenna performance requirements.
