The informatization and networking for student management is important to achieve the modernization and informatization of university administration. Compared with the traditional student management, web-based student management system has incomparable superiority.The system is designed for different requirements of students, classes, class teachers, tutors and administrative staffs. A B/S model based student management information system is designed for the School of Information of Zhejiang University of Science and Technology. The system enables.the students' managements and education for teachers and staffs by means of information. It enhances the information communication between students, classes, students and teachers, teachers and specialties. The design and application of the system reflect the professional advantage of the school. It expands and innovates on the administrative ideas for student management for the university schools and enhances management efficiency.The paper makes requirements analysis for the management system in details. Then it presents the framework and design process of the system. The system is designed and developed with ASP and SQL Server 2000. Based on class, the users include students, class teachers and tutors. The system makes user access control by strict and complicated rights policies, which enables the activities and communication between different roles. The system achieves the proposed goals. It has some application and reference value for the student management of university schools. |
