More and more group-oriented applications are emerging with the evolution of the Internet. To efficiently utilize the network resources, multicast is adopted for these applications rather than unicast. Multicast is an effective and multi-targets transmission mechanism. It has broad application prospects. But multicast suffers from the similar security threats like unicast transmissions, however, the security mechanisms in unicast can not be directly applied to multicast in this situation, secure multicast, which supplies multicast with security mechanisms is becoming a hot research spot on network. In the multicast open environment, anyone that got specified multicast address can join the group communication and receive data packets without any authorization. As the core of efficient encryption, the group key management which deals with the management and distribution of the key materials is one of the key techniques in secure multicast.This thesis introduces technology of multicast and the requirement of security of multicast. Then it describes the some dist and working principle. And introduces some popular multicast key management plans and multicast encryption algorithms. Then it is an introduction that basic designation and implementation of secure multicast key management system, and we introduced some more details about implement of system in the client, we particularly analysis every important module's realization and design of protocols. At last, we complete the system function test in its applying environment, get result and analysis it.In the end, the work done in this thesis is concluded and the further research work in the further is look forward.
