The "Twelfth Five-Year Plan" put forward new development requirements for Smart Grid and Internet of Things in the next five years. The power information collection and management based on the power line carrier communication will become more and more popular. Concentrators, as key components, need strong computing performance and antidisturbance ability. Currently, concentrators have many shortages such as performance, scalability, and stability, cost etc. In the power carrier network environment, there are also serious problems, such as impedance, attenuation, noise and the absence of a network detection evaluation tool. These will affect the on-site application of high quality communication and may restrict the development of the Smart Grid.Based on the research of existing power information collection concentrators, This thesis proposed an improved power information collection site concentrator by adding a PLC detection function. The concentrator platform is based on industrial grade 32-bit ARM9 microprocessor AT91SAM9260 and Linux embedded system. According to the national grid associated power information collection standards, PLC detection software is provided. Strong processing ability and data storage capacity are achieved, especially in the application interface and the communication protocol, data processing has been substantially improved. The proposal meets the PLC network communication detection requirements. PLC application module and detecting process are key of the PLC detection function. This thesis selects the Fuxing Xiaocheng power carrier MODEM PL3106 and PL3201. According to the related national power grid standard and PLC communication characteristics, the PLC detection application software was designed, which is compatible with DL/T698.42, GDW376.2 and DL/T645-2007 power grid communication protocols. In detecting site PLC network routing search time, communication success rate, average communication time delay, detecting carrier channel attenuation characteristics, comparison of different routing algorithm effect, detecting carrier network communication time-varying quality, this oncentrator abtained series of valuable application data. It meets the PLC detection application design requirements. A leading concentrators software and hardware platform solution For electric power information collection and management system is provided. It also provides an effective mean for PLC communication network communication quality detection and estimation.
