Till now, EMC research has formed a complete theory system, guiding the solving of EMI and EMS problem for every field. Each field also has its own standards and regulations, power electronic is among them. The lighting products assuming 12% world's electric power are mostly based on power electronic technology. Lighting product is the most commonly used electrical product of the world, so its EMC problem worth of deep investigation and research. This article is for the special investigation for lighting EMC problem, introduced normal lighting product construction and topology from EMC sight. And take the HID ballast as an example, discussed how the common mode current generated and suppress method, and the countermeasure for dealing with the surge and inrush current EMS problem.
