Microwave filters is widely used in civilian and military communication systems. In the filter design process, the mechanical structure of the microwave filter, such as structure fabrication and assembly error, will cause a high degree of deviation of the circuit characteristics and design features, which need to tune the filter to meet the requirements. In the actual production, because tuning is time-consuming and wasting energy, so tuning requires experienced personnel, which increased production time and costs. Therefore, in order to improve filter performance and tuning efficiency, it is very significant to study the effect of filter tuning screw on the electrical properties.In this paper, computer-aided tuning method is the one that extract parameter of coupling matrix with non-linear synthesis methods. Then make use of support vector machine to establish the relationship model that is the amount of screw and the coupling matrix, which built a bridge between the amount of screw and the electrical performance of the filter. It can obtain the amount of screw when the filter is tuned, provide guidance for manufacture of high-performance filter and provide further intuitive guidance for filter tuning so that shorten development cycle and reduce development costs.
