Embedded platform is an integrated system which combined computer technology, semiconductor technology, electronic technology and specific application. For the high demand for processing performance on modern radar signal processing system, after comparing the performance characteristics of a variety of embedded processors, we design an embedded processing platform based on PowerPC processor.In this paper, a principle design has been completed for signal processing platform with a new generation of high-performance dual-core processor as core. The major work of this paper is divided into three parts: in the first part, we analysis the structure and function of MPC8641d processor. In the second part, we design the main body, specially for platform interconnection interface, memory interface and processor interface in detail. In the third part, we build embedded Linux systems for MPC8641d processor platform, including the migration of embedded Linux operating system, as well as the performance evaluation and test for the platform main module in the embedded Linux system. The signal processing platform has high computing power and large communication bandwidth, and enhanced flexibility and scalability of the system through high-speed serial interface. This paper's work is a valuable reference for embedded development based on PowerPC processor.
