Design And Implementation Of A Web-Based Email Management System

Email is one of Internet applications and also the service users use most. Electronic Mail System fulfills transmission, receiving, storing management of all kinds of information, such as archive, sound, graphic and image through Internet. With the development of Intranet and office automation systems, Email becomes an important part of OA systems for keeping in touch with business, sending and receiving messages. But because of the network bandwidth, the internet-based free Email systems are not reliable and secure enough. So, we need to design and implement an intranet-based Email system reaching the personalized requirement.This paper emphasizes expatiating on the implementation of mail management system based on Seam, including its theory foundation, design idea, system structure, development process, sum-up and expectation of all above. Firstly, the paper discusses Seam and JavaMail mail technique, explaining the work principia of Email system. Then, the paper simply introduces several important mail protocols, analyses and discusses the issue of messy code in Chinese mail. Secondly, the paper makes the demand analysis to the system, divides the system into five functional modules, and gives design idea of module and activity diagram of each functional module. Thirdly, the paper analyses the system architecture from the point of the system design, gives the system design diagram, and then designs and explains the main function of each module in detail, In the end, the paper demonstrates the realized system and testing reports, and summarizes and prospects the realization of the system.This system basically meets the needs of enterprise or government department for Email management. It can be an important part of OA system for enterprises and government offices.
