With the rapid development of Internet and network applications, network security issues become more prominent. Currently, MSN is one of the most widely used instant messaging tools, but at the beginning of its design, there are no perfect security considerations. MSN and its inherent defects in a wide range of applications, making the network attackers gradually shifted attention to this broad market. Therefore, the study of solution of network-based attacks on MSN instant messaging is of great significance. This article will focus on the current network the most common types of network attacks on MSN protocol-depth research, come up with effective detection and prevention programs.Firstly, through the network sniffer test, captured data packets and unpacked these packets to analysis MSN protocol, detailed analysis of the MSN Messenger process theory, deep understanding of the MSN protocol. Including the MSN client connects to the server, MSN instant messaging, MSN file transfer communications, and these three basic functions of this article conducted a number of tests, and the protocols were analyzed.Second, because MSN protocol is an application layer protocol, MSN communication first handshake through the TCP connection, and then go on the application layer dialogue. Attacks against not the network layer, but also for application layer attacks. This paper proposes a network layer based on TCP protocol attack detection for defense and expansion of MSN protocol on the communication process from the application layer sessions MSN defense programs. Related changes of using TCP Flags for detection model to detect the occurrence of attacks and to determine the specific type of attack, and then take appropriate defensive measures. Finally, the different protocol layers for the simulation of cyber attacks, network-based attacks on MSN protocol and verify that the detection model and solution results. The results show that the attacks against the network layer and application layer attacks for the MSN virus can spread or cause paralysis of MSN communication, detection model can detect attacks based on the occurrence of TCP protocol and can determine the specific type of attack. On this basis, the expansion of MSN protocol on the communication process from MSN network attack defense.
