Research On Face Morphing Technology

Since the emergence of computers, people have never stopped researching on image and animation and especially the development of animation on face morphing is soaring. Image warping techniques are widely used, for example,we can see the application in Michael Jacobson's MTV "black or white", "Terminator 2:Judgment Day" and facial plastic surgery. With the advancement of computers and the exploration of business value on face morphing, face morphing will be used ubiquitously.Everyone wants to be beautiful and perfect. Traditional face morphing is all about changing one image to another, but this thesis focus on the beautifying of a given image.With the rise of living standard, people's attitude has been changing compared to the previous time. Face morphing and beautifying is a technology that synthesize Computer Graphics, Biology, and Computational Mathematics.There are a lot of methods about face morphing. This thesis talks about the classical methods such as cross-dissolve, line pairs,MLS and TPS.It also compares them with each other and put them into practice using the tool GUIDE of MATLAB.
