| A university library is the serving location and information supporting platformfor the university teaching and research. Libraries cannot become one of the threepillars in modern universities and satisfy the needs of education and research withoutthe fullest expression of its librarian's enthusiasm and creativity, furthermore, theirenthusiasm and creativity come from the effective incentive mechanism. Therefore,the most significant subject we are facing now is building an effective libraryincentive mechanism and improving work efficiency of librarians and inspiring theirhuge potential. Thus, this paper integrates, on the basis of other related theories onhuman resource incentive, the current situation of human resource incentivemechanism in China's university libraries, discussing how to improve this mechanismunder the new situation, and use a multi-angle and multi-method way to research thissubject.This paper has been divided into four parts: with the introduction of thefundamental concepts and related theories of incentive mechanism, the first sectiondiscusses the vital role of incentive mechanism played in human resourcemanagement in university libraries: it exerts a great influence on improving librariansquality and work efficiency, inspiring their inner potential and work enthusiasm andcreating a better work environment.The second chapter analyzes ,on the basis of major initiatives of AA effectiveincentive mechanism ,the main defects of current human resources incentivemechanism in university libraries :insufficient of its competition incentive,inadequacy of its examining and salary mechanism and other problems such asplacing more emphasis on material than spirit, and lacking pertinence ,distinctivenessand career design for the librarians . Reflection and summary the source of the defectsand problems of this type of incentive mechanism, we regard that the main reasons ofsuch a defective incentive mechanism are imperfect human resource incentivemechanism, weakness of its management system, decision-making ideas latency and awork and developing environment lacking high-level talents.The third part advances the fundamental principles to improve human resourceincentive mechanism in university libraries and draws some problems needsattention ,focusing on analyzing some specific measures and suggestions .we considerthat there are some main measures to fulfill incentive mechanism in universitylibraries : setting scientific and rational target incentive management system ;improving performance appraisal system in libraries ;placing more emphasis ondesign and management of librarians career ; creating harmonious library culture ;building better environment to respect talents and increasing attraction of libraryworking . |
