NoC (Network-on-Chip) is a key technology in multi-processor system. With the development of microelectronics technology and the network-on-chip communications technology research, NoC has became one of the most important methods to solve complex multiprocessor system in communications. At the same time, it is the forefront of related fields and hot contents of the study. In this research background, the thesis is the right of network-on-chip multiprocessor communication protocols and quality of service guarantee mechanism for conducting relevant studies.Firstly, the thesis analyzed NoC communication protocols, and proposed multiprocessor protocol layer and the routing algorithm, which is easy to hardware logic implementation. Further, the thesis is studied of network-on-chip nodes exchange mechanism on the performance of the time delay, combined with guarantee services and best-effort quality of service strategy, and proposed a new QoS mechanism. Namely, multi-priority QoS guarantee mechanism. The packet is divided into 4 kinds of different priority types, which are Signaling, Real-Time, RD/WR and Block-Tran. According to the type of packets, the routing node provides different services priority to meet the need of low-latency requirements between multiprocessors with critical data communication.Based on the communication protocols and QoS mechanisms of the study, the thesis is designed a 2D-Mesh 8×8 network model, and implemented by hardware description language. IP nodes support different traffic models and routing node with priority services. The model is simulated completely, and the performance result shows that, with the increase of network traffic injection rate, Signaling type packet and Real-Time types packets has a stable end to end time delay; the lowest priority Block-Tran type of packet has the maximum time delay, but it is ensured the multi-processor communication requirements. Multi-priority QoS guarantee mechanism provided quality of service for the network-on-chip multi-processor packet communication, meted the NoC communication requirements, and improved network performance. Finally, the thesis describes the VCR0901 chip testing process. The result shows that the chip operating frequency is to 300MHz, and meets the technical specifications.
