RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) is a non-contact automatic identification technology. Currently, the technology has been applied to many aspects of our lives, such as logistics control systems, access control systems, data acquisition systems, positioning systems. The most attractive point about RFID technology is that it can turn an isolated object into a node of any communication network, without bringing any negative impact on the existing network. In recent years, the world have focused on the Internet of things, which is we want to construct global real-time object information sharing Internet, based on RFID technology, EPC standard and Internet technology. As a critical technology, RFID technology has a great range of applications. There are still some issues of RFID technology, such as collision problem, privacy problem, network deployment and so on. Under this background, this paper does a thorough research on the combination of RFID technology and WLAN technology, and RFID tag anti-collision algorithm. The main works and achievements are as follows:1. This paper introduces RFID system components, and existing combination approach of RFID technology and WLAN technology. The author involved in the RFID technology based project of wireless AeroScout location system development. In this project, the WLAN AP takes the role of RFID reader system to collect the location message of Tags. The RSSI value of the Tag report is often changed, to solve this problem, the author proposed RSSI smoothing algorithm. Through practical verification, smoothed RSSI value and the actual location are more consistent.2. This paper mainly introduces two types of tag anti-collision algorithm: ALOHA-based algorithms and tree-based algorithm. Based on the ID-Binary Tree Stack Anti-collision Algorithm, the author propsed an improved algorithm, which changes the former's querying and responsing mechanism. This improvement reduces the number of the reader's inquiries effectively. Through the MATLAB simulation, the improved algorithm shows the superiority of performance, comparing to binary search algorithm and dynamic binary search algorithm.
