The paper is proposed on the intermediate mill of aluminum foil in an aluminum fabrication company, analyses and studies the supervisory control system of the intermediate mill equiments in detail, describes the methods of the system design and implementation.After analyzing the structure and the principle of the course work processes of the intermediate mill of aluminum foil, the structure of the whole supervisory control system is formed. The supervisory control system is put into two parts:the field control station and the operator station. The field control station is constituted with the AutoMax DPS of Reliance electric company, to realize the control of DC drive system on the Payoff, Mill and Rewind machines, and achieve the logic interlock and control in mill auxiliary systems, and the control system program is developed with AutoMax Programming Executive 4.1. The operator station realizes the supervisory and management function by the HMI software of Rockwell RSView32 through the industry computer. The communication method between the field control station and the operator station is researched. Using the OPC technology, realizes the data exchange between RSView32 and AutoMax DPS system, while the RSView32 as OPC Client and the RSServer as OPC Server, to get real-time acquisition of equipment status and important parameters of the aluminum foil rolling process in mill control system, and a SST PCLink which is produced by Woodhead Company is needed.In order to provide guidance to reduce wastage of raw materials and the times of equipments shut-down, which is bringing up by the strip break problem, the data fusion algorithm and D-S evidence theory are adopted. After analysis the historical data from the processing department, the tension and the line speed of the Payoff and Rewind machines, and the line speed of mill are selected to constitute the data sources. Then get the characteristic parameters including the∑ΔTK,∑ΔTJ and∑ΔnK by processing the data sources. Those characteristic parameters are the evidences of the D-S Evidence Theory. Introduces and defines the belief function by membership function graph. The equation of the believe function and calculation flow chart are listed. The conclusion and feasibility are also listed in the end. This algorithm can be use for reference to reaching the judgment of strip break status through the parameters condition of rolling process.This system has been successfully applied in the intermediate mill of aluminum foil, the actual operation shows that the system is stable and reliable, user-friendly interface, which has greatly increased the efficiency and the quality of product.
