Research On Universal Access Authentication Protocol Of Heterogeneous Wireless Integrated Networks

Authentication technology has been attracting more and more attention as the main method of network access in security along with the increasing trend of the heterogeneous wireless network integration. At present, all kinds of heterogeneous wireless networks have used different access authentication technology. Because of existing great difference of security, it can bring with much security trouble. At the same time, there has been conflict between authentication efficiency and access security in heterogeneous wireless networks for handover. It must also increase the authentication efficiency in security condition.Based on the research of access authentication protocol of three kinds of heterogeneous wireless networks, this project developed the universal access authentication protocol, as well as, the network-layer union authentication optimized mechanism is devised for handoff across different heterogeneous wireless networks. The main research content of this paper are as follows:1)By the research of access authentication protocol in three heterogeneous wireless networks, it has been exactly analyzed that authentication configuration, authentication process and security in each of the authentication protocols. Contrast and analyze the difference among them, the standard which should be meet when this paper develops the access authentication protocol of the heterogeneous wireless integration network has been devised. Afterwards, by analyze advantage or disadvantage of all kinds of authentication methods, the just authentication method which can fulfil this paper with high security has been selected.2)By the analysis of the trend of network development in the future and the security actuality of network accessing at present, the mind of universal access authentication has been devised, which is that mobile terminal only can use universal access authentication protocol when accessing or handoff in three heterogeneous wireless networks. In Loosely Coupled Integrated mode, this paper designs the universal access authentication protocol in heterogeneous wireless integrated networks. By analyzeing and compareing the method which can be as to verify the security of authentication protocol, this paper analysed the universal access authentication protocol with the formal analysis of BAN logic aimed at validate security and in integrality for authentication protocol. Finally, by compareing with three kind of access authentication protocol of wireless networks, the result of which proved that this project can supply the consistent of network-accessing security.3)It is very severe problem that the delay of authentication is very long and the efficiency of authentication is quite low, when the mobile terminal handoff among different heterogeneous wireless integrated network, so this paper developed an network-layer union authentication optimized mechanism. In the circument of the emulate platform of heterogeneous wireless networks, the optimized mechanism of network-layer union authentication has been emulated. By analyzeing and compareing the emulate result, it is concluded that which can decrease the authentication delay and increase the handoff efficiency across different access networks.
