Electronic endoscope is the combination of computer technology, microelectronic technology and video compression technology, and etc...The doctor can observe the patients'internal organs with the help of the endoscope and it is very helpful in the clinnical.The high-definition endoscope system can provide higher image resolution; doctor can observe the organational structure of organs, so the endoscope system development has been widespread concern. In this context, an h.264 high-definition endoscope system encoder is designed based on TI's DaVinci DSP TMS320DM6467.Chapter 1 first introduces the purpose of the proposed topic and then introduces the related technologies. Then the chapter clarified the content and organizational structure of the paper.Chapter 2 introduces the hardware platform TMS320DM6467 and a detailed description of the two-core architecture of DM6467, HD-VICP and other peripherals is presented. Afterward a brief introduction of Code Composer Studio is described.Chapter 3 gives a detailed description of the key technologies of H.264, including the concept of NAL and VLC, intra prediction, inter prediction, integer transform and quantization, entropy coding and loop filtering.Chapter 4 gives the design of the encoder software system of the HD endoscope.First this chapter designs an overall framework of the endoscope system and a detailed description of the encoder including system interface layer module and the encoder algorithm module is presented.Chapter 5 designed a fast adaptive frame/field coding algorithm, the endoscope system adaptive uses frame coding or field coding based on this principle before coding.Chapter 6 introduces the optimization of the encoder including compiler optimization, optimization of the cache, EDMA, using HDVICP, inline functions and data package, and interaction of ARM&DSP.Chapter 7 summarizes the design and proposed the direction for further research.
