Comprehensive Material Performance And Experimentation In Web Design

Modern society is that of an information explosion. Internet with some traditional media such as newspaper, broadcast and TV becomes a new way of accessing information and communication. Website design, for a long time, still remains on the arrangements of pages, the mixing of colors, choice of fonts and font sizes, editing images, etc. However, in fact, we neglected the application of comprehensive material, which is important not only in the information conveying, but also in the personalized development of website.As a fresh field in visual communication, website design rise rapidly with so many kinds of forms and styles. Material is also an important language in the design factors. Comprehensive material, broader than range of material, literally means all substance. In artistic design, comprehensive material is summation of all materials. Since material is a design factor and website design is a branch of visual communication, this paper will integrate comprehensive material into the design of web.In my opinion, the definition of comprehensive material contains two parts:one is Vector of material and computer 3D texture material; the other is materials from real life. In this paper, it is the second meaning.Subsequently, expression of comprehensive material in web design is being understood and analyzed from vision, hearing, touching and feeling. To sum up its performance characteristics namely:style individualization, application and diversified concept fashion. It is being found that there are four kinds of web with higher probability of using comprehensive material, which are web of design and innovation, web of game and entertainment, web of fashion and web of travel and nature.Finally, the theory of comprehensive material was combined with real project. This paper did some experiments and evaluation in the website redesign of Dong Ya Art Design & Engineering Co., Ltd.(1) Consequences are using the material from life in the website design in a process of recognizing material beauty as well as a precious experience. In the web design, when designers bring comprehensive material in, the experience could be sublimed and creativity would emerge.(2) The use of synthetic material not just to web design is a very effective creative way, but the most important it can transform and enrich our imagination, expand our creative ideas.(3) This is an interaction of both website design and material from life and the website is more attractive and creative. Just like "Art is from but beyond life", which is also the innovation point of this paper.The advantages of application of comprehensive material in web design were also summarized, which were comprehensive material makes web more affinity and interesting; comprehensive material increase the communicational and emotional abilities of web; comprehensive material rise the conceptual of web to be profound.
