This study is about "digital image processing based bar code identification method", which analyzed the current product bar code, and find a quick and effective method to acquire or identify the code, the method including bar code positioning, bar code extraction, the direction of the correct bar code, bar code recognition and other regional content. Finally output the Barcode number of the image.System based on Borland C + + Builder development environment, mainly for supermarkets. And focused analysis of key issues, such as regional identification, the center method, the angle calculation methods. The hardware requirements is the USB interface camera and computer, The system can be to use in supermarkets very convenient. The cost of hardware is less than the scan gun.First, this paper analyzes the current status of bar code, explain the value of the image recognition; Second, study the rules and characteristics of bar code for image analysis; Finally, the algorithm research and combination makes bar code image easy to identified. The article focused on some efficient, fast way to analyse bar code, and make the system valueable.
