Accurate and real-time information collection sensors of vehicles, Convenient and high-speed vehicle data bus, Highly integrated system on a chip(SoC) and the ARM(Advanced RISC Machines)microcontrollers which can process information efficiently provide the prerequisites for the improving of the vehicle control system.Engineering vehicles have the ability to travel and steer by wheels. They also have good mobility and strong adaptability to the environment, which is the reason that engineering vehicles are widely used in various construction sites. It has become an important issue today that based on the characters of engineering vehicles, how to design a steering control system reasonably and let the characters of engineering vehicles receive a better exertion. We should not ignore the personal safety of the driver while we reduce the labor intensity and improve the efficiency of the driver. When engineering vehicles work for disaster relief or in other harsh environment, how to protect the personal safety of the driver is an urgent problem to be solved.This article analyzes the work process of steering, combines the characters of SBW (Steer-By-Wire) and remote control. Using the system of SBW to solve the problem of how to reduce labor intensity and using the remote control system to solve the problem of how to protect the personal safety.In this article, I divide the control system into two parts—the vehicle control unit and the hand-held control unit. The vehicle control unit achieves local control in the cab. The hand-held control unit achieves remote control. In order to make the system have the ability to process intelligent information, the intelligent control method has also been researched in this article. In this article, in order to improve the inference of system, I use the fuzzy control method and the neural network control method together. When the speed of the vehicle is low, the membership between input and output will be strong. But if the speed grows higher, this membership will become lower.
