The Research On AIS Data Processing Technology Based On Embedded Linux System

Since 70's of last century, the development of ships in many countries tends to large-scale and high-speed.The water traffic pressure has become heavier and heavier, and average accidents increases year after year. Although radar could find the target timely, it can't judge the shipname, MMSI and oprating intentions. And, radars are vulnerable to weather. Therefore, a kind of marine communication system, which could judge the name and position of another ship and get the information of heading and speed and then take effective avoidance facilities, needs to be developed.So AIS comes into being. Since the beginning of 90's of last century, with the efforts of many international organizations and various countries'relative government department, the relative policies and technical standards of AIS start to appear. Now many kinds of AIS devices have been designed and refined. And they have been installed on kinds of ships. At present, most core chips of AIS device in our country need to be imported. So it is necessary to research the bottom AIS data processing.Embedded systems have broad market space, and are very popular to users because of their rich system resources and flexible application; Linux is an open-source oprating system, and is scalable and portable.Both are combined in this paper, AIS data processing can be realized in ARM-Linux system, the concrete process is as followed:(1) Based on the requirements of AIS standards, code and debug the program of analysising the dynamic and static information of ships. To authenticate the correctness of AIS analysis program, we display the analysising results on PC, using the AIS message example in standard.(2) Cut Linux kernel to make it meet the requirements of AIS data processing, and transplant the kernel to ARMSYS2410. Then this paper transplant the program of AIS data processing to ARM development board, and display the result on serial port console of PC.(3) Draw Qt into Linux. Through Qt interface, we display the results of AIS data processing on LCD. Thus, an AIS analysising system which is independent of PC is set up. The result of this paper has been as part of china MSA's scientific research item "the research of china AIS system assessment after construction", which is undertaken by NAVLAB.
