| Fixed-mobile convergence (FMC) is the promising trend of the next generation networks. Because of the access independence of IMS and its leading role among the standardization organizations, it becomes the de-facto solution for FMC. FMC not only concerns the inter-connection in the physical and MAC layers, but also involves seamless QoS support for various IP multimedia services between different access technologies. In this thesis, we concentrate on the the resource control (i.e. resource authorization and reservation) in the fiexed-mobile convergence networks based on IMS mechanisms. There have been some ideas and architectures for the fixed-mobile convergence currently, but the detailed procedures, implementations and some deep problems are not in existence. So we focus on designing and implementing the testbed of the converged resource control based on the open source IMS platform in this paper. This paper aims to the detailed design of resource control method in fixed-mobile convergence network and the implementation of related technology. At first, this thesis explains technical features, functional entities and protocol of IMS. Then it introduce the architecture of resource control named PCC and RACS in mobile and fixed network which are both important parts of fixed-mobile convergence network, and their entities, interfaces and important procedures respectively, including some comparisions between them. PCC and RACS testbeds are designed and implemented on open source software such as OSIMS and UCT PCF next. Then the detailed design of resource control based on IMS, PCC and RACS in fixed-mobile convergence network is proposed including the architecture, procedures of VoIP and handover, and related implementation to verify the correctness of the whole design. |
