The world cup which is held every 4 years, arrived in the mainland of Africa in 2010, which brought out extensive attention of all medias. Just like the Olympic Games, China Central TV was the only TV station winning the rights of retransmission of the South Africa World Cup on the mainland of China. Thus, it was meant that a lot of local TV medias, did not have rights to retransmit the football games of World Cup 2010, so that the reporting and audience rating of World Cup of local TV media would be affected a lot. Of course, Beijing TV is no exception. To change the side situation and attract more audience, Beijing TV sports channel had to blaze a new trail and plan the brand program, news program, had a good effect.This thesis is an empirical research about program planning of sports news. Select news program planning of World Cup 2010 of Beijing TV sports channel as object of the study. By means of methods of expert interview, mathematic statistics etc,borrowed the theories of planning, communication and news, analyzed planning of news programs of World Cup 2010 of Beijing TV sports channel, And used "Sports Daily" for a typical case, mainly analyzing the major steps of program planning of "Sports Daily" of World Cup 2010, operation of planning, procession of regulation and improvement, effects and problems of planning. In order to discuss the regularity and development direction of mass games news program planning of Beijing TV sports channel.Through research, news program planning of World Cup 2010 of Beijing TV sports channel had great characteristics. First of all, Beijing TV sports channel avoided the confrontation with CCTV in professionalism and depth of news but put emphasis on being close to people, grass roots interaction. Then, made use of local resources, extended theme "the World Cup", widened the vision of reporting about World Cup and exploited news resources. Second, planed news event, created new viewing focus, enhanced interactive with audiences, promoted marketization process of program operation. Consequently, sports channel attained good social influence. Third, making use of micro-blogging, network video linking and newest media technology, enriched the form of program, constructed news feeling and experience about watching TV.The practice of Beijing TV indicate that how to make full use of the advantages, break the bottleneck of reporting of mass sports games and plan good programs with public praise and high rating, and a lot of puzzles still need to resolve.
