Since the appear of the SoC technology based on the platform, people have pay mach more attention to it. It has a lot of advantages which the past technology could not compare with, such as assure product quality, reduce technical risk, shorten the design cycle, improve product listed speed, etc. All the above advantages are the reasons why SoC technology based on the platform is highly popular with the industry. Also because of this, it has great realistic significance to build an independent SoC platform based on IP core along with the corresponding verification environment for the project's development and products's upgrade.This thesis mainly face on the project of "GPS/COMPASS two-mode navigation communication baseband chips", builts the SoC common platform based on IP core, implements the integration of all functional modules except the baseband module in navigation chip. In the SoC platform, in order to improve the platform reusability and the interconnection between IP core, this design's framework based on AMBA 2.0 bus standard. After the achievement of SoC platform, this thesis also built a verification platform which is base on "Verification Methodology Manual For SystemVerilog" (VMM), and deeply research on how to use the coverage collecting technology of VMM to make a full-scale functional testing in RTL level which should make the verification reach a high race of coverage.Not only used for navigation chip, tihs SoC platform and its ralivant verification platform designed in this thesis can be easily extended to many other fileds with the strongly reusability an flexibility. And, the verification method based on the coverage collecting technology put forward by this paper, can also greatly improve the efficiency and quality of verification and reduce the risk of chip design.
