In face of the information era where IT technology is making remarkable progress, informatization construction is hindered by insufficient data sharing and high system independency. Therefore, heterogeneous data sharing and integration information system become hotspots for study in the field of information system technology.The security of vessels and crews is supposed to be the top priority of shipping and dynamic vessel monitoring is considered to be an essential measure to secure a safe shipping. As the application of GIS and GPS goes further and communication technology keeps developing, many achievements have been accomplished in the study of dynamic vessel monitoring and many of them have been taken in to application.This study is focused on the design, research and realization of the Integrated Platform of Dynamic Vessel Monitoring which is used by Guohua Power Co. to monitor coal carriers. Based on an adequate survey on business requirement and a systematic analysis, this study proposes a dynamic vessel monitoring resolution. In this resolution, radar system in VTS and GPS data are used as the joint data source and GIS (Web GIS) works as the platform for data analysis and data display. Moreover, the communication between GPS and GIS is realized by the use of GPRS.This study researches VTS, GIS, GPS and GRS in the integrated system, their working rules and relevant technologies. This study further analyzes the advantages and feasibility of integration of systems and finally proposes a heterogeneous integration resolution of VTS and GIS and an integration resolution of GIS and GPS.The system design and prototype development are basically completed. Integration of systems mentioned above can be realized and meet the requirements of dynamic vessel monitoring.
