In recent years, marine transportation in the national economy plays an important supporting role. In the daily maritime navigation and distress alarm, maritime communication systems is very important. With the vessels increasing, the issues brought up has become increasingly difficult, and channel congestion and calling impeded are inevitable. A program is put forward that mobile Ad hoc network can be used in maritime mobile communication. And the mobile network has many advantages: the transmission stability and low cost of VHF, the flexible networking of Ad hoc. The main contents of this paper is to analyze the common routing protocols of Ad hoc, to use the classical routing protocols in maritime communication systems and to improve AODV protocol.Firstly, we simply introduce the basic principle of Ad hoc network technology, common used maritime communication system in this paper. After a brief analysis of the maritime communication development, we propose the structure of maritime mobile ad hoc network base on VHF frequency. The detail and parameter setting are given in paper. Ad hoc network routing protocol is an essential part of the research, which largely determine the overall performance of the network. Although the traditional routing protocols can provide quality of service guarantees, they can not guarantee the balance of energy distribution, so base on the research of the common Ad hoc network routing protocols, analyze and compare their advantages and disadvantages, propose a modified AODV protocol that considering the energy as the angle of routing protocol improvement.Routing protocols simulation environment is OPNETModler in this paper, network devices, links and protocol model are builded to simulate net work traffic transmission by using the software, and obtain specific network performance parameters of network design or network optimization required for the technology, to observe more directly the performance of protocols.At last, the paper summarizes the research.
