Planning And Designing On Business MIS For Bulk Carrier Company

Shipping management information system can allocate information flow, logistics, capital flow and other elements of shipping company scientifically and reasonably. Ship operation is a key part of bulk ship managements,so that business requirement analysis of operation is important for the development of a successful management information system.Because of the bulk cargo transportation has its own characteristics,excellent shipping management information system has not been developed yet.Research on shipping operation focused on container and port operation aspects. Some of the literature is the operation for the ship management information system. Bulk cargo ship operation business requirement analysis is still not reported.In this thesis, the business requirements of operation for a bulk transportation company are described detailedly. Firstly, the international dry bulk market, the main features of the classification of bulk carriers and the status of shipping management information system are introduced. The development goals of a Bulk transportation company, objectives and construction of the information system development are described. Secondly, business requirements of operation are described, and the function modules are analyzed and designed.Thirdly, the key technical issues about system development are introduced. Finally, the solving strategies for problems existing in shipping management information systems planning and design are given, and the trends of shipping enterprise management information system are introduced.
