The Research And Design Of XMPP-Based Instant Messaging Subsystem Of OA

In recent years, with the great development of instant messaging technology and the widely use of instant messaging systems, there are more and more enterprises adopting instant messaging system to improve efficiency as well as reduce communication costs. Instant messaging systems for individual users are well developed, but can not meet the needs of enterprise user. Most of the instant messaging systems for enterprise users take the private instant messaging protocol so that it is hard to connect with instant messaging systems of other enterprise and inner systems of this enterprise.The emphasis of this paper is to study and implement an XMPP-based instant messaging subsystem for enterprise users, which is also a subsystem of OA developed by our laboratory, providing means of instant messaging for users of OA. XMPP (Extensible Message and Presence Protocol) is an open instant messaging protocol. It is based on XML, having scalability, security and many other advantages. XMPP-based instant messaging system can easily interoperated with other instant messaging systems or inner systems of this enterprise.This paper first analyzed the background, status, purpose and meaning of the subject, and then introduced in detail the thesis and technologies of XMPP, and then described in detail the system design of the XMPP-based instant messaging subsystem of OA as well as the protpcol design of each function module. This paper also described in detail the development of the XMPP-based instant messaging subsystem of based on Openfire and AGSXMPP, providing instant messing means to information system.
