With the growth of massive data, it's a serious problem that how to effectively maintain a large number of data storage devices and make the storage management come true for enterprise and users with limited resources. P2P storage technology now becomes a new solution.Redundancy is treated as a basic technology in distributed storage systems. It can make use of redundant system memory cost in exchange for various performance improvements throughout the system. How to set up a replication management strategy which can apply to P2P network is necessary for P2P storage system. The heterogeneity of P2P networks makes many current management strategies are just subsidiary modules of specific P2P storage system. It strongly depends on the underlying overlay network. Meanwhile, current replication management research is only focus on specific section, or on a particular scenario, which makes replication management unable to show its overall coordination effect and is difficult to run in complex scenes. Therefore, to make the replica management policies better work on different P2P storage system, we must take all aspects of management strategies and the co-ordination relationship between them into consideration in our research, then give a reasonable replication the management structure.Based on the research of several major replication management technologies, this article divided replication management into three key parts:replica creation, replica consistency maintenance and replica number management. After analyzing the relevant research results, the existing problems and the basic requirements of replication management in P2P storage system is obtained. Subsequently, to generally adapt to several typical complex scenarios in P2P storage system, the management strategy framework is given in forth part, which is based on environment information and can dynamically ajust replication status. The architecture contains all the necessary modules needed when manage replica. Depending on coordination among various modules, it can accomplish maintenance of the entire replica life-cycle. To fit complex scenes, the environmental information monitor module is added to adjust replication management strategy according to interested environmental information.Finally, simulation implementation based on the above design and results are given. It's grounded on peersim simulation model, and chooses the classic P2P storage system OceanStore to construct overlay network. Simulation results show that the replication management strategy can adapt to the complex and flexible environment, adjust the system service performance in time, and ensure the stability and availability of the entire P2P storage network.
