The Design And Implementation Of Asset Management Of Jincai North Middle School

During the 12-year development of the Shanghai Jin Cai High School (North. hereinafter referred to as the School). the school's teaching facilities, including hardware and software, are increased. The works of Fixed Assets Management are became harder and harder. As those assets have many specialties such as large quantities, variety kinds, high value, long life cycle, dispersedly allocations, etc. Even though, the School is still practicing in manual. It may costs a lot of man powers, paper documents and time, especially in historical data collection and assets statistics. And also, it may cause the assets losing or repeat purchasing. And the worst is that many mistakes can not be prevented before occurred.This article analyzes the serious discrepancies between the physical inventories and the booking records of the assets information in the School. Under the guideline which is" general design, phased implement", the Assets Management System has been designed and implemented. The system has many functions including storage, allocation, disposal (including the shortage, damage, obsolescence, etc.), stocktaking, information, financial management, statistical reports and custom reports, system security management, etcWithin the campus network, every kind of assets are monitored in order and archive the requirements of all management levels in the School.The article describes the architecture diagram and flow chart of the various functional modules of the system. In the chapter of "Database design", the E-R diagram and the designation of the database are given. According to the results of requirement analysis, the system was designed by PowerBuilder.0 and MS SQL 2000, combined with ASP.NET and IIS 6.0, adopted in C/S and B/S hybrid architecture. It makes the system has good maneuverability and easy for using. System has been tested to achieve the requirements. Now, it has been normally operated in the School.
