In the missile seeker research and manufacturing processes, the performance test and evaluation of the seeker and the various modules are very important. The RFSS (Radio Frequency Simulation System), a kind of hardware-in-the-loop (HWIL) simulation, can simulate the target with the passive, semi-active, active methods. It can simulate actual jammers, multiple targets and clutter, glint, and scintillation phenomena. The simulation can make a comprehensive assessment of the seeker's performance cost-effetely.In the RFSS, the calibration system is a very important subsystem used to calibrate the entire system. In this paper, based on the theory of radar receiver and the functions of RFSS calibration system, the design of the receiver has been discussed in detail, including the selection of microwave devices and the elaborate design of the IF amplifier. According on the certain RFSS, the calibration receiver with high sensitivity, wide dynamic range, high isolation and broadband frequency has been designed. And the detailed control flows for the calibration process are provided and analyzed. The paper deduced the target location formula in the far field condition. And the influencing factors of target positioning precision are carried out with the detail analysis by using the formula. Some systematic error of calibration system and rotor are also discussed. Finally, some experimental results are analyzed with the statistical analysis technique of mathematics. And the target positioning precision of the system is also discussed.
