With the rapid development of computer network and multimedia technology, the need of information is in large quantity. Network multimedia service is gradually becoming popular. Because of the great improvement of the computer performance, the application service of stereoscopic video is becoming a new trend.High efficiency network transmission technology is one of the key techniques in stereoscopic video. The stereoscopic video requires high of the errors and synchronization of views, and the loss of parameters set and key frame information after H.264 coding will cause great negative influence on the decoding and display of stereoscopic video. Therefore, the current RTP+UDP error-ignorant transmission method is not fit for the H.264 stereoscopic video transmission. This paper makes a description of the transmission method of H.264 stereoscopic video based on the IP networking. Also, this paper makes an implementation of MVDC (Multi-View Data Conduit) protocol which is designed for H.264. The encapsulation and packet format of the protocol, along with the cyclic annular buffer sequence processing to JB jitter are described in details.Furthermore, this paper makes an implementation of stereoscopic video server based on MVDC protocol. The major modules and their functions are: Main Control Module, which is used for global monitoring of the video server and timely alarming after error occurs. Client Management Module, which is used for the logon and registration of the client and administration of the client. Metadata Management Module, which is used for the management of stereoscopic video library, supplement of the downloadable video list and searching for the stereoscopic video the client wants. Transmission Module is used for the implementation of reliable transmission of the stereoscopic video. It can guarantee the video quality and finish the exchange of mutual information between the client and server.After experiments, the server based on MVDC protocol can provide users with service of downloading three-dimensional video perfectly, and ensures the quality of three-dimensional video transmission.
