With the development and progress of computer, Internet and multimedia technology, network services based streaming media has been the rapid development and wide application. The network services include VOD, video broadcast, IPTV and a variety of value-added services. Its characteristics are: large amount of media service data, real-time high, the storage devices and network equipment and servers that require high bandwidth. A wide range of application needs for this new network services result in a P2P-based media delivery network. This network architecture integrates the advantages both of CDN and P2P network, including high manageability and scalability. Currently, more attention has been focused on specific ways to improve system performance, such as the node selection algorithm, replica placement strategies, content routing mechanism, and lack of effectiveness of the whole system analysis and performance assessment. This paper describes the overall architecture and key technologies of the P2P-based media delivery network, and then through the modeling of P2P-MDN study the throughout and effectiveness of the network, and analyzes the relationship between the main performance and the parameters of the network. This will be a good guide for building and optimizing the network. The main work includes the following two aspects:1. The analysis of throughout of the system: that is studding the problem of a maximum throughput of system, in the case of fixed configuration and policy deployment. Therefore, based on linear programming, this paper established P2P-MDN network model, that can solve the problem of the maximum throughput of the system. This model took into account the node capacity and bandwidth of PN, disk I / O bandwidth bottleneck of the system limits is a good P2P-MDN network performance assessment model. Then based the P2P -MDN model, we analyze the impaction different parameters and policy on the system throughput, and found the relationship between them. The main conclusions show that the system configuration parameters, such as node capacity of PN, PN nodes bandwidth, disk I / O bandwidth, in a different configurations condition, are likely to have become a major bottleneck on the system. Therefore, system parameters should be deployed reasonably so that to maximize system resource utilization in the context of having limited resources and costs.2. The analysis of effectiveness of the system. For the analysis of the effectiveness of P2P-MDN architecture, this paper has established the P2P-MDN model based queuing network. By the model the average response time of user can be solved, that is a good guide to estimate the system performance. In the P2P-MDN model we analysis the impaction on the system performance after the introduction of P2P technology. The results show that the introduction of P2P does not necessarily improve user response time, and can be reduce the delay of user requests only under certain conditions. This paper also analyzed the impaction between the radio of the local hit and the performance of system. Then we analyzed the optimal deployment of the system parameters under a certain capacity of the entire system, and give an optimal parameter configuration that allows users to request minimum average response time.
