| Image segmentation is the basic technology in image process and computer vision fields, and also is the important part and bottleneck of most image analysis and computer vision system. With the development in medical image, segmentation technique is also becoming more and more import in clinical diagnosis and treatment based on image analysis. Lots of methods of medical image segmentation have been proposed. However, there is not an accepted best method to segment and neither any criterion to evaluate the segmentation. Therefore study on medical image segmentation is imperative in the field of medical images.This paper aims to study the segmentation method of medical image. Based on the segmentation of the lung parenchyma CT image, some techniques on segmentation were fairly described, including threshold segmentation, boundary tracking algorithm, region fill Algorithm and border amend Algorithm. The region fill Algorithm and border amend Algorithm were mainly modified and improved in this paper. The efficiency and accuracy of the segmentation were improved greatly after the modification of the methods.The brief introduction of segmentation was given first, including the definition and the classification. Then the three main categories of segmentation techniques were described and analyzed in details. The description on the method of extracting the entity of the lung parenchyma followed, comprising the segmentation process, the study on segmentation method and segmentation results. Based on the comparison of some segmentation techniques, the lung parenchyma was extracted and retrieved with modified methods. |
