Media in the records of social phenomena, such as to reflect social conditions and public opinion, especially in the coverage of major events and major projects, plays an important role. For example, a news report on the Three Gorges project spans a century, the cumulative total reported up to several hundreds of thousands . These reports often reflect a degree of public views,however, how to extract from the news reports the views of society is still a lack of systematic exploration and research.This article combines theory and case study analysis, and systematically reviews the ideas of the community-based news analysis, meanwhile, using News feature in the social views of the Three Gorges Project, for the application of exploration.This article includes five parts: The first part is the introduction, focus on the presentation of the background and significance, and research methods of this article. The second part is mainly on the relationship between news reporting and social views, through the definition of the relevant literature data analysis, news, views and other social concepts, clarifying that news reports is the main way of recording and reflecting the views. The third part investigates on the basic processes and methods of the social views based on news reports, discussing the possible deviations and reasons, and proposes measures to address the possible deviations. The fourth part investigates on the characteristics and advantages of community-based news analysis in community-based news analysis of the news media.
