| December 14, 2007, the State Council formally approved the Wuhan Metropolitan Coordinating Region into the national comprehensive reform experimental area of building resource-saving and environment-friendly society (referred to two types of society). At the same time of the construction of regional economic integration, the importance of building soft power has been put on the agenda, cultural industries is an important part of soft power building, its main force, media industry is an integral part of the construction of soft environment in Metropolitan Coordinating Region.At present, the research of cultural industries and the specific research of newspaper industry in Wuhan Metropolitan Coordinating Region are little. In response to this gap, this thesis focuses on the newspaper media of Wuhan Metropolitan Coordinating Region. Investigation team conducted a questionnaire survey on Wuhan newspaper readers, we visited three towns (Wuchang, Hankou, Hanyang), issued a total of more than 300 copies of the questionnaire. I used software SPSS13.0 to analyze the 296 recovery questionnaires, summarized the characteristics of the Wuhan newspaper readers, newspaper consumption habits, newspaper reading habits, and the evaluation of newspaper etc, these five representative phenomenons. In the process of data collection and analysis, as a supplementary, I used literature research, content analysis, case studies and inductive method to research the newspaper of Wuhan Metropolitan Coordinating Region comprehensively, introduced existing problems of the newspaper media, just as imbalances in media products'structural, the lower the level of competition, information needs to be improved quality etc. In the last part of the article, proposed to improve the constructive response, and combined with the Metropolitan area theory, media management, brand communication and other related theories, as readers'segmentation, staggered newspapers'positioning, developed the professional newspaper, achieved to difference competitive, to build the value chain of media industry, import brand elements etc. It is hoped these suggestions for newspapers in Wuhan Metropolitan Coordinating Region are constructive. |
