With the development of the road, bridge, girder, civil engineering, irrigation works, buildings and material detection, deflection detector need to be improved. It is attractive to use Embedded System Technology and Network Technology in these fields. By analyzing and researching to actual condition of position detectors and Embedded System, the Position Detector System based on OMAP (Open Multimedia Application Plant) and PSD (Position Sensitive Detector), in this paper, is designed and realized under the actual project demands. Besides general high precision, it has net, storage, dynamic, Real-time function. The hardware design and software development are hardcore in this paper. Hardware design comprises three parts: PSD, OSK5912 and special display keyboard. OSK5912 outfits with network, USB, serial port, CF card interface and Line in interface with PSD. Software development is consisted of embedded application program, PC side program and special display keyboard program. The embedded application program includes ARM side GPP (General-Purpose Processor) program based on Linux and DSP side program based on DSP/BIOS, communicating with each other by DSP/BIOS Bridge. GPP program performs communicating with DSP, storing data, net transmission, alarm, alternation with user. DSP program performs reclaiming data from AIC23, FIR filter, FFT, linearization and communicating with GPP.System Embedded application such as configure, translate and edit, loading, running, and system index such as precision, resolution, rate, delaying time, system function such as frequency, storage, network, alarm , are presented and analysysed. At the end, system extend ways are pointed out.
